The Federal Reserve’s focused inflation gauge is set for release on Wednesday, with non-farm payroll data due Friday, while investors await earnings from heavyweight techs.
U.S. stocks advanced on Monday, with the DJIA finishing up 114 points or 0.3%, closing at 40,227. The S&P 500 edged up 3 points to 5,528, marking its fifth consecutive day of elevation. The Nasdaq dipped 16 points or 0.1%, closing at 17,366.
Among the “Magnificent Seven”, Amazon (AMZN.US), Apple (AAPL.US), Meta (META.US), and Microsoft (MSFT.US) are slated to report earnings this week. Amazon faded 0.7% at close amid reports of some sellers opting out of Prime Day, while the other three stocks saw minimal movement on Monday.
Tesla (TSLA.US) added 0.3%. IBM (IBM.US) plans to invest USD150 billion in the next five years to promote the US computer manufacturing industry, and its stock rose 1.6%. Nvidia (NVDA.US) slid 2%.
